This unit we worked with the senses, sight, hearing, touch, smell, and taste.  We did group activities to reinforce the relevant sensory vocabulary. 

For taste, the students did blind taste testing of various foods, including lemon, grapefruit, salt, sugar, licorice, and lettuce, then described the food using the four basic flavors, salty, sweet, sour, and bitter.

For touch, the students were blindfolded and then touched different soft and rough surfaces.

For hearing, the students listened to recordings and identified various sounds of daily life. 

And for smell, the students again were blindfolded and smelled different substances, including perfume, acetone, glue, and citrus fruit.

The students have learned that without the sense of sight, they can still understand and interact with their environment.

 

En esta unidad hemos trabajado los sentidos, vista, oído, tacto, olfato y gusto. Hemos hecho actividades en grupo para reforzar el vocabulario sensorial más importante.

Para el gusto, los alumnos hicieron una cata a ciegas de diferentes alimentos: limón, pomelo, sal, azúcar, regaliz y endivias, después describieron la comida usando los 4 sabores: salado, dulce, ácido y amargo.

Con el tacto, los estudiantes con los ojos tapados tocaron diferentes superficies suaves y rugosas.

Para el oído, los niños escucharos grabaciones en las que tenían que identificar diferentes sonidos de la vida diaria.

Y para el olfato, los estudiantes otra vez con los ojos vendados tenían que oler diferentes sustancias como perfume, acetona, pegamento y cítricos.

Los alumnos han aprendido que sin el sentido de la vista, todavía pueden entender e interactuar con el medio que los rodea.
